The inclination of 20° to the tooth surface required for effective scaling is already incorporated into the cutting edge of a Gracey curette. Consequently, when using Gracey curettes, the 1st shaft of the instrument simply has to be aligned parallel to the tooth surface. This means that the optimal “inclination” to the tooth surface in the periodontal pocket is already ensured. This makes these curettes easier to use and control in the subgingival area.
Gracey Standard: Gracey curettes are designed for the removal of subgingival calculus and root planing in specific areas of the tooth. The angle of the blade allows for easy insertion into the sulcus and minimises tissue trauma.
XP Technology®: The metallurgical composition of the instrument surface is designed to make the material much more durable. Time-consuming sharpening of instruments is eliminated!
Sharpening: XP instrument tips must not be sharpened.

1/2: Slightly angled for all anterior and canine surfaces.
3/4: Slightly angled for all anterior and canine surfaces.
5/6: Slightly angled for all anterior and canine surfaces.
7/8: Angled for buccal and oral surfaces of posterior teeth.
9/10: Angled for buccal and oral surfaces of posterior teeth.
11/12: Double angled for all mesial surfaces.
13/14: Double angled for all distal surfaces.
15/16: Double angled for all mesial surfaces. This ensures even better angling than with 11-12 for even better access.
17/18: Double-angled for all distal surfaces. Strongly angled design for optimal access to the 7th and 8th teeth.
